About us – Les Ailes Verlag

Les Ailes Verlag is a newly created publishing house based in Hamburg – Germany.

We aim to produce sustainable books, using recycled paper and printing in Germany.

OUR AMBITION – A bilingual book concept about urban wildlife !

To help non-native speakers integrate into the culture of a city and a country by learning the names of the flora and fauna in the local language.
Encourage awareness of biodiversity in the city, its importance for the quality of our living environment and encourage people to preserve it.

The team

Lauriane Tiard-Caillaud

Founder and co-Author

Sustainable development consultant and trainer, after 20 years in advertising and marketing. She has managed numerous editorial projects for brands, associations and NGOs.

She has travelled extensively in the analogical era and remains nostalgic for sharing the beauty of Nature with those who appreciate patience and discovery.

Having lived in 8 countries and having taken language courses everywhere, she realised the absence of learning about flora and fauna in ALL the courses she took.

She is a member of the Hamburg Greens, a citizens’ group working to educate the public about environmental issues, and volunteers to run the Digital Collage.

Gilles Masson

Co-author

Project Manager, Sales Manager and sworn translator in German, English and Dutch, technical writer and trainer in the field of rail transport and aviation, he has always been a bird lover.

Originally from the Moselle countryside, he grew up with binoculars around his neck. A rare child in groups of amateur ornithologists, he has always lived his passion in the secrecy of the forests.

The son of a forest ranger with monumental knowledge, he is now very involved in the life of the Franco-German community in Hamburg and dreams of sharing his passion with the new generation.

Oceane Izard

Design

Founder of the Interval-l studio, in Berlin since 2019, she works with German and Franco-German associations and companies. She is experienced in bilingual graphic proposals and develops superb, playful and graceful universes.
